Everyone in life must have wondered where they came from, why we are here and where we are going. The ultimate answer to that lies in the salvation story below also known as the tale of redemption.

About 8000 years ago God made man and woman and put them in a garden. They were to be the beginning of the human race. He gave them a spirit just like His and a body for that spirit to live in. He talked to them face to face and told them His plan for their lives and that He wanted to be their friend and God forever. He gave them some simple instructions on what to do and NOT to do. Guess what? They didn’t do as He wanted and that is called SIN. They felt terrible – guilty and tried to hide from God. Now they couldn’t be with God forever.

Some years later, God had a plan for them to have a 2nd chance. He told them to sacrifice animals and the blood of the animals would cover up their sins; then He would take them back as His children and they could live with Him forever, even if they died. Well…that plan was a flop! The people rebelled and God got mad and flooded the earth. Everyone drowned except one family that loved Him. After the flood guess what? You’re right! Those folks sinned again like crazy. God sent people to talk to them and to warn them about their sin. The people would not listen; they even killed many of the people that God sent. God said what they need is for Him to go and talk to them – but God is Spirit and they would not listen to Him either!!! What do to now?!

So God found a solution and said I’ll make a person just like them but he will be just like me too. So God found a young girl and told her I’m gonna make you have a baby that will be your son and mine too. He will save the world from their sins. His name will be Jesus Christ and Emanuel meaning ‘God with us’. So every year at Christmas time we celebrate Jesus being born at a city in Israel some 2000 years ago. Jesus walked the earth and showed people what God is like; by his words and examples. Men wrote about him and this is where we get our Bible.

Now comes the sad part. Men still didn’t listen to Jesus, so he told them that he was going to be a sacrifice for their sins and be killed and his blood would take away their sins. Jesus told people before he died that I am the way to heaven and eternal life…If you believe me you will never die. He also told them that they could have a happy life here on earth by doing what he told them while he was here on earth.

Folks, the best part is this. As soon as you accept this fact that he died in order that you could be reconciled to God, you become ONE with God. Jesus becomes like just an elder brother of ours. You can ask ANYTHING using Jesus’ name and receive it. God doesn’t even remember the sinner you once were, you are a new creation now.
All you have to do now is just relax and let God work in you.
The Bible and prayer are the ultimate modes of communication and fellowship with your Daddy!
